from the get go, it was a shit show. our planned travel in witt's car did not happen, due to some brake issues so we packed up my car, no ski rack, and realized we can only take 3 people out of the 5 that needed to go, sick. split up the people thanks to josh bishop and we got there safely.
day one was real nice for the first half of the day, then the crappy weather set in, leaving us in some clouds, rain, and snow for the next day. the park was real epic with a great long line with 3 jumps into a bunch of ridiculous jibs, although speed was often an issue for some of the features, most notably the step up jump (which was so fun when the speed was good). day 3 was the banger day, bluebird for the most part, and it stayed decently cool most of the day making the speed for everything awesome, which allowed for some real fun full runs through the park.
that night was the sunset shoot on the big booter, about 80 feet i'd say. easily the biggest jump i've hit and the fastest i've ever gone into a jump. real scary. took me awhile to get used to it, while everyone else was slaying super hard. tim mcchesney guinead the thing with no hesitation at all and proceeded to slay rodeo 9s, and mcrae williams dropped everyone's jaw with the coolest switch double 10 i've ever seen. the session didn't turn out too well for me, as on my 5th hit i came up short, sideways, and ended up in a backboard for 5 hours and puked twice in the timberline clinic. luckily nothing was broken, but my body feels like i got jumped by a full gang.
the public day was shitty, cold weather, and i was only able to make 4 laps before i felt like i was going to collapse.
the ride home seemed like it would go well, with the peters brothers being nice enough to take our skis so we could fit 4 out of 5 people. but, shortly after hood river my tire exploded. we rolled 80 miles on the spare doughnut ghetto wheel until we could find somewhere that was open on sunday that would sell me a real tire. thanks walmart.
while there were some set backs, no one got dead. and that's always good.
thanks to brandon and ethan for making this thing happen!
